The Beginning

Begins in 2004, an ordinary man wanted to share his idealism for being “red” and “unknown” to public.  ”Red” represent courage and spirit, which mean dare to be different, not just following the trend but making the trend and cutting the edge with the spirit and passion that never goes out. “Unknown” represent obscurity and low-profile, which mean not to be superior, but doesn’t mean inferior because we have something incredible, meaningful but obscure which represent by the concept of eclecticism. With his idealism, he made a clothing company and distribution outlet named UNKNOWN. Based in Yogyakarta, Unknown made its first step by opening a simple raw store and filled with shades of red on Jalan Adisucipto and then made its second store on Jalan Monjali. But something happened in 2006 that made unknown should rest for a while.

The Guerrilla

in 2008, 5 friends made a decision to make a revolution and wanted to reawaken the sleeping Unknown and try to make a revolution on it. One of the friends is the brother of the man above. They begin the war to revolutionize the Unknown and change the Unknown’s name to UNKNOWN REVOLUTION. Guerrilla movements continue and the friends fall one by one. Finally only 2 people left, but they both split up to find their own path.

The Revolution

The brother still has trust on Unknown and still retain his idealism. He moved to Yogyakarta and continued his struggle. in 2010 finally Unknown made its Revolution marked with grand opening at RRI Gejayan Yogyakarta on wednesday, August 4. The store which called “The Barrack of Unknown Revolution” stand tall at Jalan Cendrawasih Komplek Ruko Permata Demangan Kavling B, Yogyakarta. Still fulfill with the shades of red but better prepared with strategies and weaponry that is more mature, Unknown begins the new story of its struggle and continued its guerrilla movement.
